Employers in the curriculum

Enrich the student learning experience and employability prospects by collaborating with us to embed employer-led activities within our curriculum.

Graduate Attributes

We have developed a set of six skills categories valued by industry and most wanted by employers called our Graduate Attributes:

  • collaborative
  • effective communicators
  • ethically, socially and environmentally aware
  • independent and critical thinkers
  • innovative, enterprising and commercially aware
  • reflective and resilient

To support students developing these attributes, we want to collaborate with you to bring real-world examples, research projects and opportunities for authentic learning in the curriculum. This will enable students to connect theory with practice and maximise their chances of securing graduate-level employment.

How you can get involved

Employers are increasingly prioritising workforce diversity and sourcing alternative opportunities to engage student interest in their sector or organisation. We have a wide array of employer engagement opportunities to highlight you as an employer of choice, and this collaboration will help students prepare for their transition into the professional world of work.

Our students want to understand your perspectives on various career paths, industry-specific knowledge and skills, and emerging trends and challenges in different sectors.

Potential initiatives include:

  • work-based learning
  • internships and Placements
  • working with students on business projects
  • providing case studies
  • guest speakers
  • mentors
  • knowledge exchange
  • consultancy projects
  • career Insights
