For the Superfast Broadband Business Exploitation Research Project, Cardiff University is the Data Controller and is committed to protecting the rights of individuals in line with Data Protection legislation.

Information we collect about you

The Digital Maturity Survey may collect the following personal data:

• name
• job title
• home address (where the respondent trades from a home address)
• home telephone number (where the respondent uses their home number for business calls)
• private email address (where the respondent uses their private email for business purposes).

How we use your information

The purposes for the Digital Maturity Survey will be:

• carrying out research and statistical analysis
• promoting our research and services.

Our legal basis for processing your personal data

• processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest.

Who receives your information

Personal data will be received and processed by Cardiff University. It may be shared with the Welsh Government for the purposes of the research.

Transfers to third countries and the safeguards in place

Personal data will not be transferred outside the UK.

How long your information is held

The retention period for personal data will be up to seven years after the end of the project (the project ends in 2020).

Your rights

You have a right to access your personal information, to rectify any errors, to port (or transfer) your personal information and in some cases to object to the processing of your personal information. All personal data will be stored on Cardiff University’s servers, under password protected conditions.
