Opportunities to visit

We are happy to welcome school groups to the Cathays Park campus throughout the academic year.

Campus visits

Campus visits are a great way for students to explore the campus, learn more about student life and ask any questions they may have about the university.

During a campus visit students will receive the following:

  • two presentations touching on aspects of student life and experiences
  • a student-led campus tour

We run our campus visits throughout term time, with the option of a morning or afternoon session.

Open Days

Watch our Open Day video.

An Open Day is a great opportunity for students to experience first-hand what it’s like to study and live in Wales’ capital city.

This event will give them the information they need to make a confident decision about their future. Students can:

  • Take a tour of our campuses
  • Speak to our students to get a real feel for student life
  • Meet our academics and support staff
  • Learn more about our courses
  • See what our halls of residences are like
  • Explore the local area and experience life in Cardiff

If you are interested in bringing a school group along to one of our Open Days, please contact the events team directly at openday@cardiff.ac.uk.

Academic schools

Our academic schools often run on-campus events for both teachers and students at various key stages. Search our school and college engagement activities.

As well as University Open Days special information events are held by the School of Medicine. This allows prospective students, applicants, teachers and career advisors to gain a more in-depth understanding of the school's courses and the facilities on offer.

Virtual tour
