Postgraduate taught programmes for qualified pharmacists:
Clinically Enhanced Pharmacist Independent Prescribing
This programme prepares pharmacists to practice as Independent Prescribers and meet the standards set by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
It can either be undertaken as a stand-alone module (intakes September and March) or as part of a post-graduate programme e.g. Diploma (intake September) or Post-registration Foundation Training programme (intakes September and January).

Professional Development for Pharmacy Practitioners
If you’re a pharmacist or a pharmacy practitioner, such as a pharmacy technician, this highly flexible programme has been designed to support your professional development.
During your studies, you’ll gain the skills, knowledge, values and behaviours you need to effectively contribute to medicines-related healthcare. And through your learning, you’ll be able to address many complex health-related problems that patients and the population currently face. Crucially, you’ll develop a comprehensive understanding and critical awareness of your role in a changing healthcare environment.
Our programme has been designed for a wide range of pharmacy practitioners, so whether you’re a newly registered professional or working at a more senior level, we’ll support you to achieve your learning goals. All of this can be achieved at a pace of your choosing because we know you have a range of professional and personal commitments to consider.
This programme gives you the option to undertake the full MSc in Professional Development for Pharmacy Practitioners or to study modules on a standalone basis.

We have a diverse research portfolio and our discipline areas for PhD and MPhil degrees include drug delivery and microbiology, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology and physiology, pharmacy, and pharmacy practice and clinical pharmacy.
Our researchers and their international networks work across multidisciplinary teams, allowing you to work collaboratively both across different schools in the University along with NHS and industry partners. This interdisciplinarity supports our post-graduates to shape their training in knowledge and skills for their future careers.

We focus on the discovery, development and use of drugs and medicines to tackle some of the most debilitating and life-threatening medical conditions and infectious diseases. And we pave the way in creating new, effective methods for delivering these drugs to better treat disease.
