Tours and facilities

Take a tour of the facilities available to all of our students and view a selection of our accommodation options.

Campus tours

Take a student-led walking tour around the Cathays Park Campus. Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes.

Time: Throughout the day (the last tour departs at 15:15)
Location: Outside of the Centre for Student Life, Park Place

City tours

Take a free coach tour of the city centre and the surrounding sights. Each tour lasts approximately 50 minutes.

Time: 09:30, 10:30, 11:30, 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00
Location: King Edward VII Avenue, outside the Temple of Peace

Please note: demand tends to be busier in the afternoon.

Cardiff University sport

The following centres are open for viewing throughout the day:

Fitness and Conditioning Centre

View our Fitness and Conditioning Centre, which offers three floors of cardio, resistance and weights equipment.

Sports Training Village

View the Sports Training Village, which has a range of indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

A shuttle bus is available on Open Day. The Heath Park shuttle bus also stops at the Talybont Residences on its return journey to the Cathays Park Campus.

University libraries

University libraries are located close to academic schools. We have a selection of libraries open for you to visit.

Cathays Park campus

  • Arts and Social Studies Library
  • Bute and Architecture Library, Bute Building*
  • Science Library, Main Building
  • Trevithick Library, Trevithick Building

Heath Park campus

  • Health Library, Cochrane Building

Libraries marked with an asterisk (*) are only open to visitors on Friday 5 July. However, staff from our libraries will be available on both Friday 5 July and Saturday 6 July in the Open Day Exhibition. On Friday 5 July, libraries will be open throughout the day. On Saturday 6 July, the Arts and Social Studies Library, the Trevithick Library and the Science Library will open at 10:00 but the Health Library will be open throughout the day.

University Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy team currently has Christian (Anglican, Methodist, Orthodox and Roman Catholic), Buddhist, Jewish and Muslim chaplains. We are here for everyone. Members of the Chaplaincy team will be available on Friday 5 July to chat with prospective students and their families on faith and the university experience.
