What to expect
If you have been unable to attend an Open Day and would like the opportunity to be shown around our Cathays Park Campus by a student guide, who can also answer your questions, our student-led campus tours are for you. Whilst they do not offer the same experience as an Open Day, they aim to provide a flavour of life on campus.
In addition, the session will include a presentation on student life and a Q&A session with current Cardiff University students.
Whilst we welcome everyone, our student-led campus tours are aimed at pre-applicants. If you have already applied to us and received an offer to study at Cardiff, your academic school will be in touch to invite you to a separate offer-holder event, which will be an opportunity to see your academic school first-hand.
The student-led campus tour sessions include:
- a presentation on life at Cardiff University
- a Q&A session with current students
- approximately a 45-minute walking tour around Cathays Park Campus with a student guide (please note that this is an external tour of the campus, and not subject-specific)
Additional academic schools
The Schools of Engineering, Physics and Astronomy, Optometry and Vision Sciences and the School of Journalism, Media and Culture are not included in the campus tour. If you would like to arrange an add-on (external) tour to one of these schools (up to one hour extra), please email us at openday@cardiff.ac.uk once you have booked your campus tour session, and in advance of your visit, so we can make suitable arrangements.
*We are unable to conduct tours of our Heath Park Campus, where the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine and Healthcare Sciences are based. However, students studying Dentistry (BDS), Medicine and Medical Pharmacology all spend some time on our Cathays Park Campus in their first year.
Book your place
We advise you to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
To give as many prospective students as possible the opportunity to view our campus, a maximum of two guests per booking will be able join the tour. If you plan on bringing anyone with you, please make sure to add the correct number of guests to your booking form.
We look forward to meeting you soon.
