Making technology work for everyone
Computer Science graduate Byron credits his enthusiasm for technology and how it shapes our world as the driving force for him choosing his degree path at Cardiff.
Byron wants to be a part of how the world changes through technological advancements and contribute to something that’s going to shape our future.
He’s looking to jump into an internship before finding a job where his skills can help to make a difference – but first, he’ll be getting his Masters in Software Engineering back with us at Cardiff University. Byron doesn’t just want to push the boundaries of technology – he wants to make a difference in people’s lives too.
His time at Cardiff taught him that when we work together, we are so much stronger. He believes that collaboration is what drives real positive change – and he loved how many meaningful opportunities he was given to collaborate during his degree. According to Byron Cardiff has been more than just a place to study; it’s been a place to grow. We can’t wait to see Byron grow even more as he continues his education with us before venturing out into the world to make a difference.
Together, we can make technology work for everyone
What’s the best thing about studying Computer Science at Cardiff?
The best part is definitely the people. You meet so many individuals from different parts of the country who share your interests. The teaching staff are great too, and they really support you in your studies. It’s amazing to connect with like-minded people and feel part of a larger community.
Can you tell us about a collaborative project you worked on during your studies?
Sure! One of the major projects we did was a year-long group assignment where we developed software for a client. It involved regular meetings, setting deadlines, and collaborating closely with my team. It was really valuable experience in a real-world situation and taught me a lot about teamwork and communication.
What are your plans after completing your degree?
I’m planning to pursue a Master’s in Software Engineering at Cardiff. After that, I’m hoping to get an internship and eventually a job where I can really make a positive difference. I want to work on projects that not only push the boundaries of technology but also have a meaningful impact on people’s lives.
What are your hopes for the future?
I truly believe that together, we can change the world for the better. Technology is everywhere, used every day, and has the power to shape the world for good. My time at Cardiff has shown me how much stronger we are when we collaborate. Whether it’s in a group project or on a larger scale, it’s clear that by working together, we can drive real, positive change.
