Equality and diversity
We are committed to promoting equality and diversity in all of our practices and activities.
Our aim is to establish an inclusive and welcoming culture which ensures equal opportunities for staff and students of all ages, ethnicities, disabilities, family structures, genders, nationalities, sexual orientations, races, religious or other beliefs, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Currently, around 15-20% of our undergraduate students are female. This equates to 8-12 students in a group of 50-60. Our first MSc Software Engineering group has 63% women.
Over half of our academic staff are female, including our Academic Lead.
We are a member of Athena SWAN, which recognises our commitment to advancing women's careers in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine.
