Training and development
We aim to deliver impactful research by attracting, retaining, and developing high quality and ambitious researchers.
You will benefit from courses, workshops and careers advice specifically aimed at researchers throughout your career. The Cardiff Researcher Programme covers over 100 training topic areas, which will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to run successful projects. You can also support your career with our leadership and management programme, and study leave is available to some academic staff for the advancement of specific research projects.
In 2021, we retained the HR Excellence in Research Award, illustrating our commitment to your career development. We are also a signatory of the 2019 Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers.
The Concordat to support the career development of researchers
The UK Concordat to support the career development of researchers is an agreement which sets out clear standards that research staff can expect from us as well as their responsibilities as researchers.
