The Network for Neurogenesis and Neural stem cells supports collaborative research on neural stem cells in the developing and adult brain.

Aims

Our Special Interest Group discusses research interests, possible collaborations and preliminary results from the research on neural stem cells in the developing and adult brain.

Research

Research in our labs focuses on genetic and environmental factors that influence self-renewal, clonality, proliferation and differentiation of the resident neural stem cells (NSCs).

Embryonic NSCs generate different neurons and glial cells in the entire developing brain. Adult NSCs reside in discrete neurogenic niches to generate specific neurons.

Our goal is to understand common traits that influence NSC functions across different genetic conditions, diseases and developmental stages.
