The School of Social Sciences has a history as a centre of world leading industrial sociology (eg the work of Huw Beynon and Theo Nichols).
There is now a newer group of scholars in the School specialising in various aspects of the broad area of work and the research group serves as a forum for discussion and presentation of ongoing work, and a hub for future research collaboration.
The group brings together researchers from across the various parts of the School to:
- discuss the current research on work-related areas taking place within the School
- explore the possibilities of developing a coherent research agenda bringing together colleagues from across the School
- offer a place for PhD students to meet and discuss their research with staff.
