Green infrastructure for healthier citizens: promoting networks and learning between Indonesia and Malaysia
This project examines the complex relationships between health and urban development.
It seeks to develop a novel community-based approach to data collection that works with local leaders to better understand how periodic environmental disruptions, such as flooding, as well as one-off construction activities, will have health consequences.
The work brings together a variety of data sources and approaches, including the collection of air quality data within the home, mapping of infrastructure and community layout, and flood events.
Community perceptions of health and ill health, as well as their development priorities, are then used as the basis for discussions with key stakeholders to formulate more integrated local health and economic development approaches.
