Bertec Force Platforms

Force plates embedded flush within the laboratory floor, commonly used for clinical and research gait analysis or sports applications.

Their configuration is optimised for measuring forces at the foot during walking, however they can be moved within the floor to a large range of configurations to suit the research application.

Make/model Bertec 4060-10-1000 Force Platforms
Details Force platforms for measuring human movement.
Facility Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Research Facility (MSKBRF)
School School of Engineering
Typical uses Biomechanics, Rehabilitation, Sports Performance Management, Physiotherapy.

Each force plate consists of strain gauge load transducers that precisely measure six components: three orthogonal forces and the moments about each axis. Linked to Qualysis Motion Capture system via AM6800 amplifiers. Width 400mm, length 600mm, Max vertical load 10,000N.

Contact the Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Research Facility (MSKBRF) on mskbrf@cardiff.ac.uk or telephone +44 (0)2920 876 436.

Can be quoted at approved rate subject to nature of use.

The system has dedicated technical support for its use and set up. Individual requirements can be discussed and training offered.
