Learners

RemakerSpace offers learners a chance to actively participate in activities related to remanufacturing, repair, and sustainability.

The Centre’s focus is on engagement through innovative events and workshops, where we can engage learners creatively. It’s a great way to gain practical skills while contributing to a more sustainable future.

The broad range of equipment available at RemakerSpace provides the opportunity for the Centre to deliver engagement and outreach activities for learners to participate innovatively to develop and enhance their knowledge and understanding of the circular economy.

How we work with educational institutions

The Centre has successfully delivered engaging activities to learners across all age groups. Over the last 12 months, we’ve warmly welcomed more than 500 students into our Centre. Our interactive workshops, with a keen emphasis on design and 3D printing, have ignited curiosity and creativity among our learners. These sessions enable students to unleash their imaginations, collaborate, and devise innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

“RemakerSpace offered our learners a valuable educational experience to undertake activities aligned to the inquiry we were carrying out in our classroom. The class visit to RemakerSpace allowed pupils to learn in a practical, creative and ‘hands-on’ way and deepened their learning around online design programmes and 3D printing. The pupils were then able to reflect on the skills that they had learnt and were able to explain how these are all essential skills for the future.”

Children in learning in the RemakerSpace

“RemakerSpace offered a full-day workshop that forms part of a larger offering Passport to the City is collaborating with Cardiff University to deliver for schools. The workshops offered practical, experimental learning opportunities with access to expertise and resources that those learners would not have had the chance to experience otherwise. The knowledge RemakerSpace staff could share with learners and the access to industry-standard technology provided opportunities that differ from a traditional classroom environment. Current changes to the curriculum have meant schools need to look at how they can work collaboratively and meaningfully with industry professionals and RemakerSpace can certainly offer a genuine learning experience that goes a long way in addressing this.”
