As part of RemakerSpace’s mission to promote circularity throughout supply chains, we offer a small suite of specialist short courses and workshops, with a focus on 3D design and printing, Innovation Workshops and Circular Business Strategies.

These educational experiences aim to enhance your team’s capabilities and insights, fostering the creation of solutions tailored to meet your organisation’s sustainability objectives and challenges.

The sessions are delivered by the RemakerSpace team, which comprises a multidisciplinary group of academics, practitioners, and technical experts. Available workshops

This one-day workshop will equip you with an in-depth understanding of Additive Manufacturing (AM), offering a comprehensive tour and insights from design to post-processing for professionals.

The workshop includes:

  • a comprehensive overview of AM technologies, materials, and applications
  • an insight into the 3D printing workflow from CAD to post-processing.
  • an extended lab tour of Cardiff University facilities

This half-day workshop will immerse delegates in the world of Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) and Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) 3D printing, providing a foundational understanding and practical skills essential for modern engineering and design, ready to apply 3D printing solutions to real-world challenges.

This workshop includes:

  • learning the basics of FDM/FFF 3D Printing, including slicer software and gcode generation
  • hands-on experience with preparing and starting a 3D print
  • exploring RemakerSpace’s 3D printing capabilities with a lab tour
  • collecting a 3D printed part at the session’s end

This half-day course offers a practical introduction to designing specifically for 3D printing, with a focus on applying DfAM principles across various AM technologies.

This course includes:

  • developing an understanding of DfAM and its application to AM processes
  • generic DfAM guidelines for various AM technologies
  • a tour of RemakerSpace lab and AM equipment
