Social psychology, risk and environment
We undertake research across the discipline that focuses on the interplay between individuals and their surroundings.
Our research addresses contemporary theoretical and societal issues including: attitudes and values, emotion, and behaviour change.
Social psychology
The three main research areas within the social psychology group are affect and emotions, attitudes and values, and social identity. We also undertake some research on social cognitive neuroscience, examining the neural underpinnings of social perception and emotions (in collaboration with colleagues in Cognitive Neuroscience and the Cardiff University Brain Research Imaging Centre (CUBRIC).

- the psychology of climate change
- public attitudes towards and acceptability of energy supply systems
- sustainable behaviour change and energy demand reduction
