Overview
I am an experienced academic, researcher and clinician with over 25 years of experience working in high-profile international institutions, healthcare industry such as The Department of Cardiac Surgery, Russian National Research Center of Surgery, the University of Edinburgh, Decision Resources Group Burlington USA, and Cardiff University.
I have over 80 peer reviewed publications in international journals and grant capture of over £1M. I have also developed methodological skills in systematic reviews and meta-analysis, conducted and published more than 30 complex systematic reviews and meta-analyses, including seven Cochrane Reviews. I have also being involved in different international collaborative projects that were carried out between the University of Edinburgh, Imperial College London, Manitoba University, University of Aberdeen, University of Turku, Maastricht University, Hasselt University, Cardiff University, and European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
The main areas of my research are the evaluation of Evidence-based Medicine and Management, the effect of environmental factors on children’s and adult’s health, primary and secondary prevention measures in asthma/atopic disorders and in Public Health, the Impact of eHealth on the Quality and Safety of Healthcare, Healthcare Economic Evaluation, Return on Investment/ Cost-effectiveness of Health Information Technologies, Secondary Innovative Uses of Healthcare Data, Child Protection, Oral Health Promotion in children etc.
