Overview
Oliver obtained his BSc in Chemistry with Industrial Experience in 2022 from Bangor University, being nominated and shortlisted for a prestigious Salters Graduate Award. In 2020, he undertook a year-long industrial placement, undertaking the position of research technician for the BioComposites Centre, based at Bangor University, primarily conducting research into volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from natural building materials. In his final-year research project, he specialised in the total synthesis and application of symmetric amino acid amide derived organocatalysts. Since October 2022, Oliver has been engaged in PhD studies within the Max Planck-Cardiff Centre on the Fundamentals of Heterogeneous Catalysis FUNCAT within the Cardiff Catalysis Institute, under the supervision of Prof. Graham Hutchings and Prof. Stuart Taylor.
