Overview
I started my work with CCMRC in August 2016. I am a surgeon, training with a sub specialism in breast cancer surgery. I first gained an interest in molecular cell biology during my intercalated BSc studies, which included a laboratory research project utilising several different techniques.
I am fortunate to be able to combine these interests in my current research, examining the role of Gremlin in breast cancer cellular biology. This multifunctional protein may influence tumorigenesis by promoting invasive and metastatic properties. We hope to explore this influence and its potential clinical impact.
