Across 10 weeks, this course will explain what gang culture is, providing an insight into why people join gangs.
It will also introduce you to some of the main crimes committed by gangs, and also key theories which can help explain why people join gangs, and why they offend in them.
Learning and teaching
On successful completion of the module a student will be able to:
- Understand what gang culture is, and which crimes gangs are commonly associated with.
- Understand some of the different theories which are used to explain participation in gangs
