Our exciting programme of modern languages gives you an opportunity to study a language from scratch or improve your existing skills to a very high standard.

Courses are taught by tutors based in the School of Modern Languages, most of whom are native speakers.

Students interested in our language courses should determine their level of competency before enrolling on a course.

Arabic

Arabic is not taught widely in the UK so we are very proud to be able to run courses here at different levels to suit all abilities.

Chinese

We offer a wide range of Mandarin Chinese language courses specifically designed for members of the public and timetabled in the evening.

French

Our popular French classes are usually taught by native speakers and offer eight levels of entry to suit every type of student.

German

We offer professionally taught German courses at the frequency and level to suit you.

Greek

Our language courses in Greek are perfect for beginners through to advanced speakers.

Public service interpreting

Our Public Service Interpreting programme has been designed to introduce bilingual students to the profession including role boundaries, professional conduct, terminology and practical issues.
