Trevor Watkins
1927-2009
The catering department were saddened to hear of the death of Mr Trevor Watkins, a former Catering Officer who worked at the University for 30 years.
Mr Watkins started his career in the Navy on destroyers, then for many years worked for UWIST which eventually became Cardiff University.
During this time he catered for many visiting dignitaries and celebrities, including Sir Anthony Hopkins, Roy Jenkins, Sir Jim Callaghan, and Prince Charles who were all visitors to the Redwood building where Mr Watkins was based.
He was a renowned patissier and he was very much respected by colleagues and members of staff.
Mr Watkins is remembered as being very supportive and helpful by all who worked with him and knew him.
Anne Lewis, catering department.
