Richard Parfitt

INSRV was saddened to hear of the death of Richard Parfitt who was taken ill very suddenly and died on the 22nd July 2008 whilst on vacation in Germany with his wife, Sue and family.

Richard had worked with the University since July 2003 after relocating from London. Richard was a quiet man, but had a wicked sense of humour, a ready ear for anyone who was having difficulties and a trusted confident of many.   He was an active church member and also of the UHW Christian Fellowship. Many of his colleagues have written tributes to Richard as he touched the hearts of so many; just a few of the words which his colleagues wrote to describe him were: friendly, happy, caring, thoughtful , compassionate, genuine, humorous, gentleman, honest, gentle, and sensitive.

He will truly be very much missed by all who knew him. He leaves a wife, daughter, two boys, and mother, and our thoughts and prayers are with them all.
