Gordon Irvine

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Dr Gordon Irvine on 6th January 2012, aged 88 years. Dr Irvine joined the Anatomy Department in 1948 as a Demonstrator and worked there until his retirement as Senior Lecturer, having been Director of the Dissection Room for many years.

He was an accomplished pianist and conductor, keen photographer and mastered several languages, both modern and ancient. Dr Irvine retired to Richmond in Surrey where he was the organist in his local church for 20 years.
