Meet our new Head of School: Professor Amanda Coffey

Professor Amanda Coffey has begun her role as the new Head of School for Social Sciences.
Professor Coffey, elected as an academician of the Academy of Social Sciences in 2011, has succeeded Professor Malcolm Williams who previously held the role.
A founding co-director of the Wales Institute for Social and Economic Research, Data and Methods (WISERD), her research interests include qualitative methods, young people and social change, gender and education, and working lives.
Discussing her vision for the School, Professor Coffey said: "I would like to ensure that the School is a world-leading social science school, a destination of choice for academics and students, with a reputation for excellence in teaching and research - an inspirational, rewarding and collegial place to work and study."
