Recent work featuring Cardiff School of Chemistry (Dr Simon Pope) has been highlighted on the cover of the ACS journal Inorganic Chemistry.
A collaborative project between the Universities of Granada (Spain), Edinburgh and Cardiff has reported a series of bifunctional zinc-lanthanide bimetallic complexes that display field-induced single molecule magnet (SMM) behaviour and enhanced near-IR luminescence.
These species are rare examples of dual magnetic-luminescent materials.
