PRINCE2® Breakfast Briefing explores the major ideas behind the 2017 update
10 November 2017
Members of Cardiff University’s Project Management Alumni were joined by representatives from top Welsh businesses to explore the changes to the PRINCE2 method following its 2017 update.
Despite the 8am start, Cardiff University’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Unit kicked off the event in an energetic style with a light-hearted networking activity designed to get everyone mixing and interacting.
Following that excitement, guest speaker, John Edmonds, provided a specialist insight into the revised PRINCE2 method and the improvements made to the previous (2009) edition. John engaged the group in an activity around tailoring of the PRINCE2 method; this generated much discussion and offered an opportunity for collaboration, helping the group to advance their development with others in the field.
The event was rounded off with a raffle and one lucky winner came away with a brand new copy of the PRINCE2 2017 manual!
John was one of the authors of the PRINCE2 2009 edition and one of the review team for the 2017 update. His career has given him extensive and varied experience in management, particularly change, programme and project management.
The CPD Unit is already planning its next Project Management Alumni event, which will be focused on business process mapping and analysis. Members will be contacted with full details in due course.
The Project Management Alumni Membership Scheme is completely free to anyone who has attended any of the CPD Unit’s Project Management courses. It offers a unique opportunity to share experience and ideas with others working in the field of project and programme management. Other benefits include access to promotional discounts and invitations to other Cardiff University events.
