Crime Live – become a forensic scientist for the night with Inside Justice UK
10 October 2017
For one night only the innocence project at the School of Law and Politics invites you to take part in a crime investigation where you will play forensic science expert!
Inside Justice UK, a charity dedicated to investigating alleged miscarriages of justice, is working alongside our innocence project to bring you Crime Live: an opportunity to observe and take part in a forensic crime investigation
Forensic scientists, Tracy Alexander and Jo Millington, will host the event on Friday 24 November which will involve a recreation of a crime scene. Throughout the evening, Tracy and Jo will share their insider knowledge on crime investigations, the limitations they’ve experienced, what happens when evidence is contaminated and the network of experts needed to review a case.
Professor Julie Price of the School’s innocence project said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for our students and others to hear directly from two forensic experts who are internationally respected. This is a unique event - not only will the audience hear from Tracy and Jo about their careers and experience but they will also be able to take part in an investigation themselves. Everyone is welcome at the event, whatever subjects they are studying, and whether or not they are students!”
