New Entrepreneurs in Residence scheme announced

8 September 2017

Cardiff Business School has established a new Public Value Entrepreneurs in Residence scheme to enhance its capacity to support entrepreneurial and innovative thinking.

This is the first role of its kind to be created at the School and is an exciting opportunity for three individuals, with appropriate entrepreneurial experience in the commercial and/or social enterprise sectors, to build a close and mutually beneficial working relationship with the School.

The successful nominees will work closely with senior management, staff, students, graduates and partners within the small business and social enterprise sector to help develop and advance the School’s entrepreneurial spirit and thinking. They will also have the opportunity to advise on the development of relevant aspects of the School’s bold, progressive public value mission.

Cardiff Business School is one of the UK’s leading research-led business schools, recognised for the scope and quality of its teaching and research. It is also the world’s first business school to put public value at the heart of its operations.

As the Public Value Business School, Cardiff is committed to delivering and promoting economic and social improvement through interdisciplinary research, teaching and engagement. It seeks to address the grand challenges facing society such as innovation, inequality, sustainability, and access to decent work.

Professor Martin Kitchener, Dean of Cardiff Business School, said: “This is an exciting new development for the School and an excellent opportunity for creative entrepreneurs to work with our community, and professional partners, to further embed principles of entrepreneurship and enterprise.

“The successful candidates will help facilitate the exchange of essential practical enterprise skills and experience, working with our ambitious and creative students and graduates to help nurture promising new business ideas. They will hold a prestigious position within the School and benefit from the opportunity to engage with our staff and access our extensive external network – all of whom are pioneers and thought leaders in a diverse range of fields including entrepreneurship; innovation; strategic business leadership; and social enterprise.

“I look forward to welcoming our three new Entrepreneurs in Residence very soon.”
