Big turnout to view partial solar eclipse
20 March 2015
An estimated 1,000 people turned out to watch a partial eclipse of the Sun with experts from the University.
Students and staff were among the large crowds at the public event on the steps of National Museum Cardiff.
They used a range of equipment including pinhole cameras, colanders and a solar telescope to take advantage of the good weather to view the phenomenon.
Dr Chris North, of the School of Physics and Astronomy which had teamed up with Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum of Wales and the Institute of Physics for the event, said he was delighted by the turnout.
