Work is under way in the lab of Dr Florian Siebzehnrubl at the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute to complete a Stage 2 application to the Horizon 2020 Societal Challenges call on the topic of New Therapies for Rare Diseases. Dr Siebzehnrubl's proposal is to clarify if the mechanism EMT could be a new target for Glioblastoma - cancers of the brain.
"This is great news," Dr Siebzehnrubl said. "The first round of applications saw over 400 entries, so to get through
to the next stage is a positive step. We're now working on fleshing out our proposal with a more extensive outline and are hopeful that our innovative and collaborative approach will prove successful."
