The School of Pharmacy receives Silver Athena SWAN award
26 September 2013
It was announced today that the Athena SWAN assessment panel has given a Silver award to the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The Athena SWAN Charter is a scheme which recognises excellence in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Medicine) employment in higher education and commends good practice for women working in these areas.
The Head Of School, Professor Gary Baxter, said: "I am thrilled that the School has been awarded Athena SWAN silver recognition. The award is external validation of the environment, working practices and culture of the School that support the careers of women scientists particularly - and which benefit all who work in the School. This award is a huge achievement for us since silver recognition normally builds upon existing bronze recognition which we did not hold."
The award will be presented at an awards ceremony to be held at Imperial College London.
