School and staff recognised in the 2013 Celebrating Excellence Awards

The University has recognised the School and two individuals who have been short-listed as part of the University's Celebrating Excellence Awards.
Professor Gary Baxter has been short-listed for the Outstanding Contribution To Leadership Award. The award recognises excellence in motivating, inspiring and empowering others to achieve their individual and/or team goals and fulfil their potential.
The Healthy Places Healthy People Team (including the School's Dr Sion Coulman) have been short-listed for the Outstanding Contribution to Innovation and Engagement Award, recognising outstanding contributions by individuals or groups in any area of activity covered by the University's Innovation and Engagement Strategy.
Dr Dai John, Deputy Head of School, extended congratulations to Professor Baxter and the Healthy Places Healthy People Team on behalf of the School.
The School itself has been short-listed for its Outstanding Contribution to the University's International Activities, in relation to its work on the Cardiff-Taylors collaboration. This award recognises outstanding contributions by individuals or groups in any area of activity covered by the University's International Strategy, including 'behind the scenes' work.
The School has previously been successful in the Celebrating Excellence Awards. In 2012, Professor Gary Baxter and Dr Dai John received the Vice-Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Contribution to the University.
