Cardiff MCCU win the MCC Universities Challenge Final
19 June 2017
The annual MCC Universities Challenge Final was held at Lords, the Home of Cricket last week. Cardiff MCCU, a squad of talented cricketers from Cardiff University, Cardiff Metropolitan and University of South Wales, progressed to the final where they faced Loughborough MCCU.
Loughborough won the toss and fielded first with Cardiff 291 all out. Loughborough needed to better this score but fell short with 266 all out resulting in Cardiff MCCU claiming the victory by 25 runs. This recent result finishes the year on a high for the Crimson Caps, also reaching the semi final in the BUCS Championships a couple of weeks ago. Some great performances all round and congratulations Mark O'Leary, support staff and players.
The victory against Loughborough University also follows Cardiff University men's futsal team beating Loughborough in the BUCS Championship futsal final last month.
