Purple Lights for Pancreatic Cancer
27 November 2014
The Hadyn Ellis Building was bathed in purple light to mark the start of November's Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, thanks to the generosity of our neighbours from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
Senior Lecturer in Stage and Production Daz James said:- "Lighting can be such a simple but effective medium and it's a great way of drawing attention to a cause, so when we were asked if we could supply some purple lighting gel to help the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute light their building to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer, we couldn't think of a better way to get involved. We're pleased that such a simple action could produce such a great effect for such little cost."
Pancreatic Cancer UK's national campaign saw landmark buildings around the UK such as City Hall in London, the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle and Blackpool Tower all turn purple on Saturday 1 November.
