Engaging in sustainable research to help Welsh businesses
27 January 2017
Professor Rossi Setchi from Cardiff School of Engineering and NatWest Bank, co-hosted a half day event at the School of Engineering.
The event brought together members of NatWest’s Welsh industry network (primarily manufacturing firms) to explore ways in which they can benefit through collaboration with us.
Approximately 20 companies attended the event from across the manufacturing sector, where attendees heard from academics and industry experts in the manufacturing sector about successful and exciting partnerships, including ASTUTE (Advanced Sustainable Manufacturing Technologies) collaborations with company’s Divemex and Reid Lifting.
Attendees had the chance to discuss with academic staff potential collaborative opportunities and to hear first-hand how joint research can help and develop and support their businesses.
Attendees also took the opportunity to visit the School of Engineering’s cutting edge facilities in areas such as micro- and nano-scale manufacturing, robotics and autonomous systems, high precision metrology and structural performance laboratory.
