New Pathway to Social Science
21 June 2012
Mature students now have a new route to an undergraduate degree in Social Science at Cardiff.
The new pathway has been specially designed to meet the needs of mature students. The first year of study takes place on a part-time basis in Cardiff Centre for Lifelong Learning before students progress to study at the School of Social Science. The progression allows students to begin their studies in the friendly, supported and informal environment where they will be allocated a personal tutor who will advise them throughout their entire degree until graduation. The specialist pathway is designed to provide adult learners with the knowledge, skills and the intellectual preparation needed to study at degree level. Individuals will also gain educational development, guidance and support within a timetable that caters for lifestyle and commitments of busy adult learners.
Jan Stephens, Pathway to Social Science Co-ordinator, commented "The new Pathway to Social Science is a real opportunity for students with commitments and responsibilities to begin their degree through part-time study whilst benefiting from Cardiff University's culture."
The Pathway to Social Science will begin in September.
