The greenest and cleanest ways of travelling to and around the University are highlighted in the latest version of the travel plan, which is being re-launched during Sustainability Week 2012.

The University-wide initiative gives staff, students and visitors tips on more sustainable travel, helping reduce unnecessary journeys and the University's impact on the environment.

The travel plan raises awareness of travel choice and impacts, encouraging active travel and use of public transport. It also includes actions to promote the use of alternatives to air and car transport for business travel, alternative working methods, and a review of the University's vehicle fleet.

Speaking about the travel plan, Karen Tanner, Director of Campus Services said: "The plan highlights alternatives to single occupancy car travel such as cycling, walking, car sharing and public transport. We hope that it will help staff, students and visitors to Cardiff to adopt more sustainable travel habits."

Staff from Campus Services will be at the Sustainability Week Charities Fair in the VJ Gallery, Main Building, on Thursday 1st November with more details about the plan and handing out free pedometers. The plan is available online here.
