A talented student has been awarded a Jubilee Scholarship to study at Cardiff University.
Ms Udita Bhalla, a scholar from New Delhi in India, will be joining Cardiff Business School this September to stay an MBA with a full scholarship awarded by the British Council.
The British Council and UK Government-funded scholarship programme was introduced to provide financial support for 60 Indian students to undertake a Masters in Management, Science and Technology or Manufacturing at a Higher Education Institution in the UK, followed by a short internship in the UK.
A rigorous selection process was undertaken by the British Council in India with the support of an expert panel of senior educationalists and academics. The scholars were judged on the basis of their academic merit, professional ambitions, and their creative and leadership potential.
Ms Bhalla said "I feel privileged and honoured to have been awarded the Jubilee Scholarship by the British government on the occasion of Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The scholarship will enable me to study at Cardiff University which is known for its vibrant academic community and excellent faculty. The Cardiff MBA prepares students for a world in which business enterprises, the creative arts and social concerns are increasingly interconnected and interdependent. I am confident that I will benefit immeasurably from the Cardiff MBA, both personally and professionally."
Dr Fiona Davies, Director of Student Recruitment at Cardiff Business School said, 'this is a great opportunity for the student. We wish Ms Bhalla all the best in her studies at the Business School, and look forward to welcoming her to Cardiff in September. We award several scholarships to international students and would encourage potential students to visit our website to find out what Cardiff Business School has to offer.'
