12 November 2012
The University's fifth Hadyn Ellis Distinguished Lecture will take place on Wednesday 21 November 2012, which this year is to be delivered by The Right Honourable The Lord David Puttnam CBE FRSA.
Lord David Puttnam is one of Britain's most distinguished film producers with award-winning successes such as Chariots of Fire and Bugsy Malone. Lord Puttnam sits on the Labour benches in the House of Lords and has publicly commented on the future of media
regulation and the post-Leveson world. His lecture is entitled The Lessons of Leveson - The future of media regulation in the internet age.
This high-profile lecture will honour Professor Hadyn Ellis, CBE DSc (1945-2006), formerly Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff University, who played a significant role in establishing Cardiff as one of the leading research universities in the UK.
A drinks reception will be held from 5.30pm in the Julian Hodge Building and the lecture will commence at 6.30pm. The event is free to attend but booking is essential. Should you wish to attend, please contact Jill Wilmott-Doran by 14th November on CU-Events@cardiff.ac.uk.
