Cardiff lecturer appointed as UN expert consultant

Dr Edwin Egede, Senior Lecturer in International Law and International Relations has recently been appointed as an expert consultant by the United Nations.
Dr Egede will assist and advise the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), in establishing and implementing an African Blue Economy Strategy in relation to deep seabed mining. The appointment is based on Dr Egede's book Africa and the Deep Seabed Regime: Politics and International Law of the Common Heritage of Mankind published in 2011, as well as other pieces of work he has written on the topic.
