Staff excellence celebrated at annual awards
14 November 2016
Cardiff Business School staff – both academic and professional services – have been recognised in the 2016 Cardiff University Celebrating Excellence Awards.
The Celebrating Excellence Awards are an opportunity for staff from across the University to acknowledge colleagues who have gone the extra mile, and take a moment to say 'thank you' for their contributions.
This year, staff from Cardiff Business School made the nominee longlist in a range of categories, including Outstanding Contribution to Innovation and Engagement, Outstanding Contribution to Equality and Diversity and three citations for Professional Services Team of the Year (Admissions Team, UG and PG Hubs and AV Team).
The nominees were whittled down to just three finalists per category and the winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony on Thursday 17 November, hosted by Jayne Dowden, Cardiff University’s Chief Operating Officer.
The School’s finalists are:
- Outstanding Contribution to Innovation and Engagement: Dr Marco Hauptmeier (shared with Harriet Lloyd, School of English, Communication & Philosophy) for the innovative Public University event series
- Professional Services Team of the Year: Cardiff Business School Admissions Team
Professor Martin Kitchener, Dean of Cardiff Business School, said: “It is fantastic to see the School’s staff, academic and professional services, recognised by their peers in this way. Our success as a School, and the quality of our students’ experience, is dependent on the hard work and commitment of our staff and it is right that we, as colleagues and a University, pause to acknowledge and celebrate their contributions. We wish all of the finalists well.”
The Celebrating Excellence Awards support and reinforce The University’s strategy, The Way Forward. They reward individual, team and collaborative achievements through a range of award categories, and recognise the contributions made by staff working in every area of the University's activities.
