When Science Met Science Fiction

Excitement levels reached a new high recently when Doctor Who, which is filmed in Cardiff, used the Hadyn Ellis Building as a location for an episode in its latest series.

With many sci-fi fans within the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute, some of the research staff briefly swapped their lab coats for a seat on the sidelines to watch new Doctor, Peter Capaldi, and his companion, Jenna Louise Coleman, film scenes in the ground floor exhibition area of the building.

During down time in filming, Mr Capaldi was more than happy to sign autographs, pose for photographs and chat to Institute staff – much to the delight of some, especially Research Technician Elaine Taylor, pictured with the Doctor!
