Lecturer wins the Môn Eisteddfod Chair
4 June 2016
Dr Llion Pryderi Roberts, lecturer and Director of Teaching and Learning at the School of Welsh, has won the Chair at the Anglesey Paradwys Eisteddfod 2016.
This is the second time that Dr Roberts has won the Anglesey Eisteddfod Chair after securing his first in Aberffraw in 2003.
This year, participants were asked to present a series of poems using Paradise as a theme.
Derec Llwyd Morgan, one of the judges, said of Dr Roberts’ collection: “…he articulated his experiences best, using original words, unexpected images, and a range of styles.”
Dr Roberts said: “The collection springs from personal and familial experiences but my hope was to create poems that anyone would be able to relate to. It was a particular honour to be able to win my second chair in the Paradwys Eisteddfod this year.”
