Johann Sebastian Bach and the Sublime
27 July 2016
Heading to this year’s National Eisteddfod in Abergavenny? Visit Cardiff University’s pavilion on the Maes at Castle Meadows to enjoy some free talks, ask a question at a debate, join in with interactive activities or just relax with a free tea or coffee.
Dr Keith Chapin will be giving a free talk at the pavilion on Johann Sebastian Bach and the sublime, accompanied by musical excerpts played on the viola, at 11am on Friday 5 August.
The talk will explore how terms of adulation in praise of music and musicians are much more than simple thumbs-up tokens of approval. They can through study unlock music’s far-reaching significance.
