Mental health blog
14 June 2016
From auditory hallucinations to mental health services, Cardiff University is discussing a wide range of mental health topics in its brand new blog.
With one in four people suffering from some form of mental ill health in any given year, there is an increasing need for new thinking about its care, treatment and causes. With this in mind, the University’s mental health blog will encourage constructive debate and provide a platform for discussion around the wider medical, psychological, biological, social, economic and legal aspects of mental health.
Hosting a wide range of contributors, including those with direct or indirect personal experience of mental illness, health care professionals, and academics, the blog kicked off last week (7 June 2016) with an introductory post from Professor Michael Owen, Director of MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics.
To read Professor Owen’s post or find out more about topics such as auditory verbal hallucinations and the biggest ever genetic study of schizophrenia, please visit the blog.
