Criminology at Cardiff ranked in UK top ten

Our undergraduate Criminology course has been ranked in the UK’s top ten in the latest Guardian university league tables and the first to include Criminology as a distinct subject.

The other degree specialisms in the School also performed well and all improved their ranking compared to 2016. Education is now ranked 25^th (up from 53^rd), Sociology is ranked 22^nd (up from 37^th), and Social Policy is ranked 11^th (up from 14^th).

The Guardian rankings are determined by a combination of factors, with the National Student Survey results for overall satisfaction, assessment and feedback, and the quality of teaching accounting for three of the eight measures  used. Other factors include the staff-student ratio, the amount of money spent per student, the average UCAS scores of current students, how students’ individual degree results compare with their entry qualifications, and employability.
