Postgraduate student Olivier van den Bent-Kelly has secured a highly sought after graduate scheme place at one of the World's largest global communications and marketing firms Edelman.
He was one of just nine successful candidates out of more than 1,500 applicants.
Olivier, who studies MA International Public Relations and Global Communications Management at the School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies, secured his place after a competitive series of interviews.
“The application process was intense, but ensuring I conveyed my passion for communications and putting into practice what I’d learnt at Cardiff was key” said Olivier.
“Being able to draw on elements I'd learnt during lectures and utilise my experience working on live briefs throughout numerous modules was infinitely useful. The degree has massively developed the way I approach PR, campaigns and communications."
“It's honestly my dream job, Edelman are the leading global communications marketing firm in the world – it’s exactly where I want to be.”
Edelman’s client list spans the global communications landscape and includes Microsoft, Unilever, Hewlett Packard and Diageo.
Elliot Pill, Director of MA International Public Relations and Global Communications Management, welcomed the news. He said, “The opportunity to work with international brands so early on in his career is testament not only to Olivier’s tenacity but also his clear passion for the industry.
“This is a wonderful achievement. It is just one more example of the myriad career opportunities open to graduates of our accredited course.
“We wish Olivier good luck and look forward to him joining our ever evolving network of national and international alumni.”
