Celebrating outstanding placement students

Cardiff Business School recently hosted the Undergraduate Placement Awards, a night dedicated to celebrating the wonderful achievements of our placement students.

Held on 20 March 2025,  the awards acknowledged outstanding placement student contributions to businesses locally, nationally, and globally.

Bringing together over 30 talented students, the evening was a testament to their dedication, hard work, and the meaningful impact they have made in their respective placements.

Amy Beilby, winner of Intern of the Year says: "I feel very humbled to have won. I was in a room of driven nominees who had all done incredible things within their internships. This award is a testament to the opportunity for development I experienced at Castalia. I was able to work on projects in partnership with the World Bank and USAID on global infrastructure development. I am very grateful for this opportunity to work on such impactful projects, which have benefitted me in my future ambition and passion for economics.”

Zoe Barrett, winner of Best Contribution to an SME says: "I extremely enjoyed my year on professional placement with W H Brakspear & Sons, where I learnt a wealth of industry knowledge and was lucky enough to experience so many amazing opportunities and experiences. It has encouraged me to enhance my passion of marketing and pursue a career in this field. After such a valuable year, I was delighted to have received this award, and I am very grateful to the placements team for their recognition and mentorship throughout this journey. For anyone considering a placement year, I would highly recommend."

All Cardiff Business School undergraduate degrees are available with the option of a professional placement year. Business Management (BSc) also offers the opportunity for students to complete an integrated placement in the spring semester of their second year.
