Applications for the Wolfson Summer School 2025 now open
3 March 2025

The Wolfson Centre for Young People’s Mental Health is set to host its fourth virtual Summer School this July.
Taking place online from Monday 7 to Wednesday 9 July, the three-day online course will be delivered by an expert interdisciplinary team from the Wolfson Centre for Young People's Mental Health at Cardiff University.
The programme will explore key aspects of youth mental health research, drawing insights from epidemiology, genetics, neuroscience, and intervention development. It will also include short talks on research career guidance, the importance of involving the public in research, and how findings can inform government policy. Attendees will have virtual networking opportunities with fellow participants and speakers.
“We are looking forward to hosting another summer school on behalf of the Wolfson Centre. Our online programme aims to provide attendees with an introduction to youth mental health research, focusing on the diverse work conducted at the centre.”
The summer school will be delivered by world-leading researchers who will offer talks and workshops in their areas of expertise, with a focus on understanding the causes of adolescent mental health problems and developing effective ways to offer practical help to young people.
The summer school is free to attend and is aimed at research scientists (PhD, master’s, postdoctoral, or third-year undergraduate students) and clinical trainees (Foundation, Core, or Speciality training) who are interested in youth mental health research or looking for an introduction to the field.
"We encourage you to apply for this opportunity. The programme is a chance to learn more about moving into the field of youth mental health in both research and clinical-based roles, and we hope it will appeal to a wide range of attendees. Applications close on Friday 9 June 2025, and we look forward to hearing from you soon!”
